Benefits of Infrastructure Project Development For PT SMI & PII
JAKARTA - Indonesian Government focus to developing a variety of infrastructure projects throughout the country has made the infrastructure financing company, PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) (SMI) achieved substantial revenue. Until June 2017 the company has pocketed a loan disbursement commitment of Rp 52.9 trillion.
Based on information from Kontan.co.id (25/7/2017), the nominal recorded by PT SMI includes equity investment which recorded a 49,8 percent increase compared to the same period last year of Rp 35.4 trillion.
Director of Financing and Investment of PT SMI Edwin Syahruzad informed that until the end of the year, the company targets to reach Rp 65 trillion in financing distribution. The realisation of the financing disbursement commitment is currently on track.
The increase in financing commitment is also impacted by the acquisition of SMI net profit until the first half of 2017. Until June 2017 SMI has pocketed net income of Rp 707.4 billion. The figure rose 2,82% from the same period last year or recorded Rp 688 billion.
Not only is SMI benefiting from the increase in its financing commitment, it also has a significant impact on PT Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia (Persero) or PII which has guaranteed some infrastructure projects spread in various regions. Recorded until June 2017, this State-Owned Enterprise (SOEs/BUMN) company has signed a guarantee agreement on 13 infrastructure projects.
