IIW 2017 Encourage Private Participation in Various Infrastructure Projects
JAKARTA - Infrastructure is an important part to improve the progress and prosperity of the nation. The availability of good infrastructure influences the smooth flow of goods and services, increased access to employment and labour productivity, increased consumption value and so forth. Thus, it expected economic growth can be realized.
In order to accelerate the provision of infrastructure, the participation of all components of the nation is needed, including the private role that has the financial capability, experience and technology in the provision of infrastructure. The synergy between government and private sector is important and effective for the successful implementation of infrastructure projects.
Therefore it is deemed necessary to hold a meeting between the government and the private sector related to the provision of infrastructure through Indonesia Infrastructure Week (IIW) 2017, an annual event which held to help the government accelerate the achievement of infrastructure development.
This year, IIW 2017 will be held at Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on 8-10 November 2017 with the theme "Bringing Together the Public and Private Sector in Support of Indonesia's Critical Infrastructure Development".
IIW 2017 objective is to encourage the private sector to better participate in accelerating Indonesia's infrastructure development, promoting attractive and bankable infrastructure projects from various sectors, meeting stakeholders in terms of regulators, financiers, investors, project owners, suppliers, distributors and contractors and provide insight about the investment climate and economic conditions.
"IIW (Indonesia Infrastructure Week) 2017 encourages the private sector to participate more in accelerating Indonesia's infrastructure development, promoting attractive and bankable infrastructure projects from various sectors," said Bappenas/PPN Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro in press conference at the Bappenas Office (6/11).
More detail, Bambang also explained that IIW not only contains exhibitions but also a series of seminars, "Consists of two main activities of seminars and exhibitions covering three panel discussion sessions, discussing the topic of Indonesia's infrastructure condition, the future of infrastructure funding in Indonesia, and identifying market infrastructure and sharing projects from business people."
Indonesia Infrastructure Week (IIW) 2017 will be held co-location with Konstruksi Indonesia 2017 and The Big 5 Construct Indonesia 2017 (KIBIG 5). It will make this event as the country’s most comprehensive, free-to-attend exhibition and multi-track conference dedicated to supporting Indonesia’s infrastructure ambitions.
