JAKARTA - The Ministry of National Development Planning targets the Non-Government Budget Financing scheme (PINA) in the third quarter of 2017 to facilitate equity financing of three infrastructure projects in the energy, airport and toll road sectors with a value of around Rp10 trillion.

Head of Bappenas Bambang Brodjonegoro said the PINA scheme and Cooperation of Government and Business Entities (KPBU) could be a solution to address the financing needs of large national infrastructure projects through private sector involvement.

"This is a solution to overcome budget constraints, APBN using creative financing scheme, as well as a solution to strengthening SOEs equity without relying on state capital participation," said Bambang as reported from viva.co.id (4/9/2017).

The three infrastructure projects are West Java International Airport amounting to 2.1 trillion IDR, PT Waskita Toll Road which will sell its stake in nine toll roads for projects worth 69.74 trillion IDR and a steam power plant project in Meulaboh, Aceh for 7.1 trillion IDR. The total investment value of the three projects is around 79 trillion IDR.
