Optimize Logistics Infrastructure for a Smooth Distribution

PROBOLINGGO - Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Budi Karya Sumadi witnessed the signing of cooperation on the utilization of state property in Probolinggo Port and Sintete Port, Sunday (20/8). This is part of optimizing Indonesia's infrastructure for the smooth flow of logistics to reach people in all region.

"Today (yesterday,-ed) there are two ports of thirty ports and airports that we hand over for cooperation, it can be with state-owned enterprises (BUMN), private enterprises or regional-owned enterprises (BUMD). We can make sure this will be better, cheaper and faster so that logistics is smooth," said Budi Karya Sumadi as reported from dephub.go.id (21/8/17).

This cooperation is also a gift of the Central Government to the East Java Province on the anniversary of the 72 years Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. Budi Karya Sumadi explained that there are still 28 ports and airports that will be handed over to operators for cooperation to reduce the APBN budget each year.

Transportation Minister revealed that there are still 28 ports and airports that will be cooperated to the operators of BUMN, BUMD and Private. He expects the operator to work better because we will spur with a regulation and those who will carry out the activities.

Furthermore, with such a partnership could at least reduce logistics costs by 20% and increase port services by 30%. "So in and out of goods no longer by land but by sea," said him.
