JEMBER – The central government plans to extend the runway at Notohadinegoro Airport to a length of 2.400 meters long so the airport will be able to accommodate Airbus plane. Ministry of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said the extension of runway length is a follow up of President Jokowi’s idea during a visit to Jember.
“As a technical department, we follow up the presidential instruction to make Jember Airport with a length of 2.400 meters and a width of 45 meters,” said Budi after reviewing Notohadinegoro airport as reported from detik.com (20/08/2017).
With a 2.400 meters runway, an Airbus type aircraft will able to land on Notohadinegoro airport. Airbus is a type of aircraft owned by all national commercial airlines.
