GLP Will Construct Power Plant in Gorontalo

JAKARTA – PT PLN (Persero) has appointed PT Gorontalo Listrik Perdana (GLP) to fulfill the project financing date so that the construction of Sulbagut-1 steam power plant will start soon. GLP is a consortium which 60% of its ownership is owned by PT Toba Bara Sejahtera (TOBA).

TOBA President Director Justarina Naiborhu said that GLP has stated that it will meet the project financing date on July 14, 2017, based on the power purchase agreements between GLP and PLN on July 14, 2016.

"With the completion of the financing date, GLP will start the process of steam power plant (PLTU) which located in North Gorontalo District, Gorontalo Province," said Justarina Naiborhu as reported from bisnis.com (17/7/2017).

Justarina also said that the financial statement date will not affect current operations and will strengthen the company's financial condition in the long term.

Corporate Secretary of TOBA Pandu Sjahrir said that the land acquisition for Sulbagut-1 power plant has been completed so that after finishing financial close, the company will start the construction on this year. Sulbagut-1 is a power plant with a capacity of 2x50 megawatt. The power plant will be in a commercial phase in 2019.
