Jusuf Kalla Review the Infrastructure Preparation for Asian Games in Palembang

PALEMBANG - Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla appreciate the implementation of infrastructure preparation for the Asian Games XVIII. This was revealed when he was reviewing the development of infrastructure that will be used in the event which will be held in October 2018.

The visit was conducted on Saturday morning (8/4), accompanied by the Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nachrawi, Chairman of the Organizer of Asian Games Indonesia (Inasgoc) Erick Thohir, South Sumatera Governor Alex Noordin, Director General of Housing Provision of The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Syarief Burhanudin, Director General of Cipta Karya of The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Sri Hartoyo and Head of Task Force of Asian Games XVIII Infrastructure, Imam Santoso Ernawi.

"From 11 facilities, 10 facilities expected to be completed by the end of December 2017. Although there were already completed in October, but most will be completed in December 2017," said Jusuf Kalla as reported from pu.go.id (04/10/2017). 

He assured, "The Central Government participated in the Asian Games 2018 infrastructure development, such as the construction of venues and Athletes Flats as conducted by the PUPR Ministry."

As is known the development of flats or Athletes Guesthouse of Asian Games Jakabaring is conducted by housing Development Unit of Flats Directorate of Housing Provision as much as five twin blocks during the two fiscal years 2015 and 2016, with a total budget around Rp 19,5 billion per twin block. The flat development progress was built in the Palembang Jakabaring Sports Complex has reached about 98 percent and is expected to accommodate about 1,320 athletes.

In addition to building flats athlete, PUPR Ministry has also completed the vertical buildings with various facilities. In addition to the electrical connection and water supply lines, each unit is also equipped with types of furniture such as a bed, a desk chair, a wardrobe and a dining table.
