Pelindo II and Lampung Provincial Government Agree to Develop Panjang Ports

JAKARTA - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero)/IPC cooperate with Lampung Provincial Government (Pemprov Lampung) to develop Panjang Port. This is marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding between IPC and Lampung Provincial Government.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding of the Panjang Port Cooperation Development Plan in Lampung province was conducted by IPC President Director, Elvyn G. Masassya and Lampung Governor M. Ridho Ficardo.

Cooperation with the next three years is intended to synergize together to see the opportunities that exist and build cooperation to support the Nawacita program in realizing the Toll Sea, in order to accelerate the growth and equity of the regional economy.

Among the things that will be done are the transfer of Pelra (Pelayaran Rakyat) ships from the Port of Panjang to Sembalang Port, reactivation of the railway line to Panjang Port, Dry Port Coal Construction in Way Kanan Regency, and the utilization of roads and Lampung Provincial Government Land.

"Consistently IPC seeks to develop and gradually improve various aspects that deliver fast, accessible, adequate physical facilities, and friendly to stakeholders," said Elvyn G. Masassya in a press release (19/1/2018).

Elvyn also explained the synergy between IPC and Lampung Provincial Government is to bridge innovation and efforts to improve services for business and society in Indonesia. "This cooperation is expected to support the smooth and increase economic movement of Lampung Province," he concluded.
