Develop Tourism in Yogya, KEMENPUPR Focus on Connectivity

YOGYAKARTA - Yogyakarta as a special region in Indonesia has the potential of tourism as diverse, ranging from coastal areas, conservation travel, up to cultural tourism. One area who have growth in tourism is Gunung Kidul, which located in the south of the city of Yogyakarta.

The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) see the support connectivity infrastructure or road has an important position in the development of the tourism sector in the region. "The potential of tourism in Gunung Kidul very good, we support the increased connectivity of Gunung Kidul to the centre of the main services in this strategic area, "said Minister PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono in Yogyakarta, (18/11/2016), as reported from pu.go.id.

Furthermore, Minister Basuki said is currently being carried out feasibility studies (FS) of the toll road from Yogyakarta to Solo. This time he added, are determining whether the design of later landed toll road or elevated toll road follows national roads.

"So from Bawen-Magelang-Yogyakarta is about 60 km, then also Tasikmalaya-Yogyakarta-Solo was being FS. There is initiator which from Jasa Marga who has constrained FS of Tasikmalaya-Yogyakarta-Solo, might want to take precedence Yogyakarta-Solo, besides that there is also a toll Magelang-Yogyakarta that also takes precedence, "added Minister Basuki.
