Support Tourism of Toba, KEMENPUPR Repair the Roads Infrastructure
JAKARTA - To support the strategic areas of the Lake Toba National Tourism (KSPN), Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (KEMENPUPR) will handle the ring road Samosir Island in North Sumatra province along 145 kilometers. Samosir ring road handling will be done for 3 years from the fiscal year 2016.
"Bid opening is already done and it expected the work of Samosir ring road could be signed in mid-December. For the rest of 42 km will be handled on 2017," said Paul Ames Halomoan, Head of the Center of National Road Implementation (BPJN) II Directorate General of Highways as reported from Kontan.co.id, Thursday (12/01/2016).
The work is planned to be divided into two packages, namely Package I for the treatment of the road along the 69 km worth Rp 371 billion and packages II which worth Rp 174 billion for the handling of road along the 34 km. The handling of Samosir Ringroad such as road widening which originally 3 meters, will be freed up to 14 meters wide. From the width of 14 meters, it will be used for the motor vehicle width 7 meters and the rest will be reserved for cyclists and pedestrians.
"In 2016 we helped land acquisition amounting to Rp 5 billion, the rest of that is for the local government. In 2017 (we) will also share the central and local budgets," said Paul.
The ring road is a road which originally belongs to Samosir District Government, but it has been handed over to the Ministry PUPR in 2015. In addition to the ring road, BPJN II will carry out the reconstruction of Tano Ponggol bridge, which become the connector to the Samosir island.
