Development Progress of the Infrastructure of Asian Games 2018

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono confirms that infrastructure development for Asian Games 2018 is expected to be completed in November 2017. This is expressed in the 5th event OCA Coordination Committee Meeting 2016 in Jakarta on Wednesday (14/12).

Minister Basuki said that the Ministry PUPR get a mandate from the President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to coordinate and accelerate the provision of supporting infrastructure for Asian Games 2018.

"I believe the 5th OCA Coordination Committee Meeting is an important activity and it gives me the opportunity to report the progress to the OCA (Olympic Council of Asia), and we (the Ministry PUPR-ed) is still running on schedule," said Basuki as reported from (15/12/2016).

He explained that the average progress of construction work of 11 sports venues namely the Main Stadium, Swimming Stadium, Field Hockey, Football Field of A/B/C, Archery, Tennis Stadium, and Istora, per December 14, 2016, has reached 12 percent and the progress is still on appropriate schedule.

Minister Basuki also said that the current progress for the construction of Wisma Athletes Kemayoran is beyond the plan which is 37 percent from 35 percent plan. He explained that the Wisma Atlet Kemayoran consists of 10 towers.

Three towers of flats built in Block C2 with a capacity of 1,932 residential units and seven towers in Block D10 by the number of 5,494 residential units. Each unit has an area of 36m2 which can be occupied by three people. At Block, D10 will also be a dining room with a capacity of 2,500 people.
