JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has issued POJK Number 52 on Infrastructure Investment Fund in the form of Collective Investment Contract (POJK DINFRA). It is now being reviewed by BNP Paribas Investment Partners to determine their involvement in the regulation product.

The OJK regulation was issued to provide a collective investment scheme for various infrastructure projects. The goal is to continue encouraging domestic and foreign companies which operate in Indonesia by utilizing the Indonesian capital market as a place to mobilize investment funds from both inside and outside the country, including for infrastructure projects.

However, as a new regulation, BNP Paribas feels the need to have a special study so that certainly can not release these types of products in the near future.

"Because it is still new so we still look at the legal side, operational, then from our own expertise, the target market is ready to accept so we must review first," said President Director of BNP Paribas, Vivian Secakusuma as reported from inilah.com (15/8/17).

She explained that her company always do an in-depth study if there is a new regulation. "The most important for us is a legal aspect and it's regulator form. So the possibility is small to start this year."
