The Construction Industry Is Important For Large-Scale Infrastructures

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Rosan P. Roeslani assessed that large-scale infrastructure should be supported by the readiness of the construction industry and the readiness of supply chain construction resources.
Rosan P. Roeslani revealed this in the opening of the National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) of the Indonesian National Construction Contractor Association (Gapensi) in Jakarta (15/1). This should be a concern as the Government of Indonesia now faces challenges related to the infrastructure development after the issuance of Law No.2/2017 on Construction Services.
"Reliable infrastructure is a key to improving Indonesia's competitiveness, so supply chains need to be strengthened to support Indonesia infrastructure development," said Rosan P. Roeslani as reported from kadin-indonesia.or.id (25/1).
Rosan also requested that the guarantee of legal protection against the implementation of construction services can be maintained, as well as on protection for construction sector workers.
"Safety issues in construction projects need to be noticed. Skilled labour is not enough to execute a project, but also the need for prudence and experience to make sure that every project worked well," he said.
