Jonan Optimistic The Rules of Electricity Tariff Will be Completed on Early 2017

NORTH SULAWESI - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ignasius Jonan plans to issue rules of electricity tariff which arranged in the form of Minister Regulation. He is optimistic by targeting on early 2017, the rules of the electricity tariff have been discussed completely.

"This quite fast. It could the early of next year. The form is Minister Regulation, and if needed is Minister Regulation Revision," said Jonan as reported from Tempo.co today (28/11/2016).

The plan to publish the rule of electricity rules inseparable from the tariff determination of renewable energy-based electricity (EBT), which often becomes an issue impeding the use of EBT. Ignatius Jonan has even formed a special team to discuss the issue.

"I formed a team, there are from PT Pertamina, PLN, there are others, to determine the tariff and the process," he said.

According to Jonan, in determining the electricity tariff, the government must be fair to power producers and companies that buy, PT PLN (Persero). Currently, discussions feed-in tariff (FIT) is underway. Jonan targeting the discussion is completed within one month.

"What is important in the discussion of the feed-in tariff was fair to all. So it's also fair PLN, PLN later sold to the public with affordable price. As a manufacturer, PLTP is also able to work," said Jonan.
