Jokowi Ask the Tourism Sector to be Supported by Adequate Infrastructure

JAKARTA - The Government of the Republic of Indonesia under President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) now focus on promoting Indonesian tourism in the world. Nonetheless, President Jokowi explained that it must be supported by adequate infrastructure.

Infrastructure is one of the important elements that support the tourism industry in Indonesia. Moreover, there will be 10 new tourist destinations that would be heavily promoted to a global stage to attract tourists.

As reported from Liputan6.com today (07/12/2016), President Jokowi in the opening of the 100 Economist Indonesia Workshop urges the support of infrastructure by saying, "The existence of 10 new tourist destinations in Indonesia requires infrastructure support and need the support of others. It should be pursued as soon as possible."

For information, the Government of Indonesia is targeting foreign tourists (tourists) visit reach up to 20 million people by 2019. The Indonesian government has been done many things including cooperation with the Government of China to attract foreign tourists from China.
